Big Brother 9 is upon us

Friday, 6 June 2008 19:22 by eugene

Hello,

It is amazing how you know something is coming up and keep thinking "Oh, yes that is soon" and before you know it, you realize that you are about to miss it!!

I found myself in a pickup truck with a friend driving from Preston to Crawley, after having spent two and a half hours on a train from Edinburgh where I am working.

Although I managed to see everyone enter the house, I was annoyed that I was not there in Borehamwood to actually see them go in (like some kind of bad-luck charm). Especially as I know one of them!

So what do I make of them?,

Not that much so far. I mean you cannot judge a reality tv contestant by their re-recorded video demo because Endemol could not use the original!

I see that they have a couple who came in. Thinking how dull. They will just be all over each other and have nothing better to do thinking somehow that their togetherness will somehow lead them to the final. Only later I was ecstatic to hear that their synergy was to be shattered by Stephanie coming on the scene. Once things started, Mario was told that his real partner, Lisa, a bodybuilder and tanning salon manager (Tanager) would would be his partner no more. Well, I guess she'll just have to be strong and if Lisa or Mario get to close, give them a good tanning.

We seem to have a few interesting other characters,

Kathreya, a Thai girl who has lived in the UK for over 7 years ago and is a Buddist. Hopefully her relaxed attitude will keep this calm. But maybe her fears of Height and Feet combined with a non-understanding of british humor may cause friction and keep her on her toes. I hope she doesn't fall from grace, she seems nice.

Rebecca looks after kids, I hope she can look after the housemates as well - she supports the Monster Raving Loony Party - probably a good thing in here.

Then there is Luke, who all I know is that on seeing his demo, he may well lose his "dramatic" hyper approach and non liking of people who want to be famous. Not that I disagree, but a short course on public speaking may get his point across better. He is a commentator on wrestling, no doubt he will wrestle with the others to make the house work.

Finally the two people I am watching closely. Michael and Dennis.

Michael, coming from the same part of scotland as David last year, makes audio for the blind and is also a stand up comic, who dresses slightly female. He is also blind. Although a bit eccentric, I think he'll do well. I think it is great to have a blind person on, I dare say that he'll keep watch on the right people better than anyone else.

Dennis. Well, I know him. He is cool and a really nice person. I hope he does well (and scotland proud).

BB: Week 12

Week 12

I was amazed to see Jerry evicted on Friday, there was me thinking he had potential to win, but I think that what may have cost him, or at least tip the balance was the Lie Detector Task earlier in the week.
Housemates were interviewed in the Diary Room and apparently changes in their voice suggested whether they were lying or not.

Carole tried to hide the fact that she likes to Moan and moreover, Liam admitted he was jealous of Brian’s relationship with Amanada (though if he has a problem, he could always take Sam instead; same thing!!).
But when asked if he had a “Game plan”, Jerry said that he did ¬ to get on with people and be “associated with the good times in the house”. He also admitted that he had lied about his age.

Though none of these are important (game plans usually don’t work and who cares about his age) Tracy kicked off about it and ultimately, he seems to have gone.

Over the weekend, a task was set to ask Big Brother some questions and for Big Brother to Quiz the housemates.

The questions asked were varied including Liam asking about the Number a footballer wore, but Brian asked one question that truly stumped Big Brother, when did Neighbours start!!!! Later it was the housemates turn, they had to answer questions, the ultimate being “name all the members of Girls Aloud”.
They got them all and won Pizza (which, as the pizza appeared to be shown earlier in the task and took them over 20 Mins to complete, I can only assume that they were cold. I’d prefer to have failed in that case!!

Ziggy is doing quite well, especially after hearing that some people did not think his relationship with Chanelle was genuine. Well , it is “Reality TV”. However, now he is deciding to put on his apron as he has decided with the other lads, to take over the cooking. Must be that the women are not that good at it! Or could it be because of the Bread Argument with Carole after he took some frozen bread and Carole offered him some defrosted. ohhhh, too complicated!!!!!

Now that Jerry has gone my thoughts to win are Brian or Ziggy.

I would like Brian to Win as he has been really genuine and a “team player” and is really amusing.
Ziggy is my second choice as he has been really consistent, not backstabbed and has had, perhaps, more to deal with than the other housemates. However, he should not get would up so much.

Though the twins are “nice”. I just feel that they have not quite been so entertaining.

BB: Week 8

Week 7

It does seem that now everyone is almost independent. Housemates are doing what they want for themselves as there is no-one to impress.

Carole is managing to get on with her own life, especially after the birthday party which housemates had to attend the party with some as party goers and the others as the entertainment.

At the end, there was some mess, and the partygoers had to clear up.  The performers were banned from cleaning up and when Carole tried, she was issued boxing gloves which had to be worn as a punishment.

While the party was on, trust someone to spoil it.

Charley could not resist the chance to have an argument. She picked on a comment about racism brought up by Brian. They were talking about comments made by people and it turned into Charley having a go just as Brian did not agree.  He was brought to tears by her and to be honest, put up a great fight (actually he did better than her!!).

Brian’s performance was to be a One Man Band!! He was trained watching a “classic” one man band on the TV set with explanation how to play the guitar. Brian didn’t have a clue! But enjoyed it!

Charley’s performance nearly ruined Brian’s! Luckily it did not. Brian performed “Shutup-er-yer-face” perfectly well, awfully but entertaining!

Liam also did a brilliant magic act. Tissues out of fingers, cutting a ferrite and putting it back together genius.

But the last week has been great.

Nicky was evicted to a lot of boos she was up against Jerry, who in recent weeks, has become truly brilliant.

On eviction, Nicky was quite positive about the other housemates, unlike the previous eviction, where Charley had, finally been evicted but that was “Fake Week” where it was a “fake Eviction”. Not only did Charley get put back in after eviction, but got to see not only how she looked on the small screen as a bitchy shouty horrible cow, but also got to see that she was far from popular.

This week, she has been very fake trying to look like she is gaining support. Her luck ran out, however, after suggesting that Jerry had illegal preferences!. She was promptly called to the Diary Room and, in a Big Brother First, to my knowledge, told that her comments were not right and asked how she thinks Jerry would feel, and also that it was wrong to say it.

She apologised, and then went off on another “last word” rant.

Later, after saying how everyone loves her and “we’ll see” and “am I bovered”, she came into the Diary room and said how she cannot take the dislike (of everyone) and started to crack!!!

Over the weekend, a task was set to run a TV channel.
The highlight being Ziggy and Jerry hosting, in Jerry’s words, the news.

Jerry was ok and understood how to talk to camera whereas Ziggy was very good, except he obviously did not know where the camera was. Good old Big Bro managed to test their skills, though, by including a message about Liam from his family, and then, a message from Jerry’s Mother he started to lose it and did have a few tears. Ziggy totally coldly said “moving stuff”.

Later in the day, Ziggy, who thought he had got away with the emotional tricks, found his dog from home in the garden and was joyous to see the dog (more than he was with Chanelle) and part of the task was to then take the dog around a course. He failed. But good to watch!

Tracy and Charley are up for the public vote and I think that “good old Charley” will be the one out.

As to win. Brian or Jerry probably Jerry!!!

BB8: Week 4

Monday, 25 June 2007 17:39 by Admin

Week 4.

Jonathan, who was the new guy has now well settled in along with the Billi, Brian and especially Liam who now has gained £100,000 after Seany, Carole and Jonathan, who were up for eviction were summoned to the Diary Room. With one minute thinking time, they had to unanimously decide which housemate would receive £100,000. They managed to decide on new-boy Liam – who, to be honest, seems probably one of the better ones to give it to – imagine if It were Charley!

The problem for Liam is that the housemates think all the money is gone, and some are now trying to take sides to Liam from a manipulative point of view. One of these girls is Charley who, was sucking up to him immediately.

Earlier in the week, the nominations were put forward including Carole because she was moaning too much, but I think she was in the right, especially with housemates taking her washing. It is obvious who’s towel s whose and the less talented housemates just take any one. Carole is only trying to keep the house in good condition.

Seany, on the other hand, was put up for eviction because of his general attitude – non-respect for others and his practical jokes.  He did go too far when he removed Lesley’s covers causing her to leave, but amusingly, he did put wet paper into Charley’s boots causing her to go off on one about how they were expensive and how unfair it was. Actually, it was hilarious.

After Jonathan nominated, he commented about how he "arrogantly" knows the people better in the house better than themselves.

Charley actually liked this comment, so did I!

The task this week was to swim the English channel by swimming several thousand lengths of the swimming pool while 2 other housemates are sitting in a boat. While many housemates contributed without hassle, after a comment by Jonathan about the number (or lack) of lengths swam by Chanelle, she went off about how the water was freezing and how unfair it was to comment.

Ultimately, I have sat in a bath of Ice and water, and I can say the water in the pool would NOT have been freezing.

Since his £100,000, Liam has been getting closer to Nikki, until Nikki has started being too close which has driven him away – no guesses what she is after.  Ziggy and Jonathan both noted this. Ziggy also decided to get back with Chanelle after a spate of arguments – which is no surprise as let’s face it, Chanelle really is always complaining. Especially after the Swimming task. Of course this was not to laugh and he started contemplating splitting up with her again – and losing his "OK deal" that these BB Couples are always after.

Seany was the one who got evicted in the end – he kept saying that everything was cool and otherwise didn’t seem too surprised. Earlier he said to Jerry that he wanted to be a role model.

Needless to say, now he is out, some are saying he was not quite as he appeared in the house.

Who is going to win? Laura or Carole.
Who is out next – PLEASE – CHARLEY!
