Diary: February 2006

Hello,
It has been a funny old few weeks. I have just started flying again at Cubair in Redhill. I gave it a rest for 6 weeks as I had to pass the Navigation Written Test, but I need to revise more. It was great going up again – I flew down to Shoreham, along the coast and then up to Heathfield via Simon Yapp's farm. We circled and got some good pictures of the farm and exclusive pictures of the Peugeot 205 in the centre of the back field raring to go for another spin.

I have been busy dashing about the country as usual right back from January where I went to Trisha that went out on Valentines Day. I think I was a little cruel to Trisha picking up on her knowledge of the popular TV series, “Lost”.

Staying on TV, I’ve been up to London loads going on a visit of Channel 4 which was really great. They are in a ‘fab’ building near Victoria and which was the first Studio to be fully digital broadcast chain, though many changes have still happened to keeping them up to date. It was very clearly laid out inside and had a large, open plan restaurant! No photos, sorry. Then we went off to Capital Disney to return the favour, visiting Allan Lake and friends at "In On The Lake".

Went off to "Wogan,Now And Then". We almost met the Togmeister! One Day I will! He was brilliant - just like he is on Radio 2 - witty, modest and playing up to the audience! He is brilliant. I hope to go again. Afterwards, went for some food in the BBC canteen and walking back via TC4 viewing gallery, spotted the Test Card W on a plasma with BBC TC4!!! The card was not lined up correctly!

I finally got to go to The London Studios (LWT) to watch "Friday Night Project". It was very funny and I was amazed at the amount of wit and innuendo that they have. There was so much material that they had to cut it down or it would be 2 hours long! The warm up guy was very funny, and what was even funnier was when he appeared as the warm up guy on “Wogan Now And Then”, 3 weeks later! We met up in the green room with the presenters and team afterwards. A great night!

Also, who can forget the Celebrity Big Brother Final? What a night. We went to the VIP area and managed to blag a visit round the house just as Chantelle and Michael Barrymore were waiting to ‘win’. It was surreal. We went to the ‘after-party’ that evening and chatted with the production crew. It was brilliant. They are really nice people!

Other stuff I’ve been up to: -
We finally got the Peugeot 205 out of the hedge with the help of a long rope. We set up a small obstacle course in the field consisting of a TV stand, fire extinguisher and a lamp – the aim, to destroy them! I helped dig a trench, and built a Jacob's Ladder from an old Budweiser! (Watching the Sparks, Havin' a Bud - True!). This may turn out to be useful as I may use it in my IEE (Institute of Electrical Engineers) lecture, "An Audience With Eugene" on the 1st March at the Hawth in Crawley!

Take Care,
Eugene :o)
